MUSIC IS A MORAL LAW,
IT GIVES SOUL TO THE UNIVERSE
WINGS TO THE MIND.
FLIGHT TO THE IMAGINATION
A CHARM TO SADNESS
GAIETY AND LIFE TO EVERYTHING.
IT IS THE ESSENCE
OF ORDER AND LENDS TO ALL
THAT IS GOOD,JUST, AND BEAUTIFUL.

I have heard that the Orchestra of the Auvergne  has been in touch with our Minister of Culture re coming here to play the Viola  Concerto ' Le Chant de Venus.'  The orchestra are in Japan until mid may , so we will have to wait until further discussions/developments take place.

In the meantime, The programme for La Choral Symphonie has changed. I went to the Cathedral and had a good look and there's no way we could perform Poulenc's Stabat Mater in there ( which I would love to do ) owing to the size of the orchestra. If the venue was external that would be a different matter.

I will have to wait until Monsieur and I have discussed the orchestral event.

However in the meantime , the programme has changed  in  that the first half need only contain Hallelujah Chorus and Requiem....that is long enough owing to the length of the Requiem. Then Cantique de Jean Racine of Faure with Organ!!! This is a glorious setting with organ!! Then my Lux Aeterna, which also has an organ Cadenza.

Finally, I must decide on a work of about 20 mins to complete the programme. I'll be back here soon with the answer to that.
